Lots of Free Printable Valentine Cards for Kids (Variety of Themes) Content Preview: This is a collection of free printable valentine cards for kids that are perfect for handing out on Valentine’s Day. There are a variety of topics and styles included. There are also a few options for some homemade valentines.
We’ve already established this, I know, but I love Valentine’s Day! It’s not because of the romance attached to it as an adult, but rather my fond memories of Valentine’s Day as a kid. I loved making a decorated box to collect my valentines, picking just the right valentine cards at the store, handing them out to classmates, and enjoying a Valentine party with my class.
In fact, when we started homeschooling, one of the things I did in our homeschool group was to organize a Saint Valentine’s Day party. I didn’t want my kids to miss out on it. (And when the kids went back to school, I busily helped Molly finish up her rainbow loom bracelets on February 13th for what ended up being one of her favorite valentines to hand out to classmates.)
Because of that love for the holiday, I’ve made a lot of free printable valentine cards for kids that I shared here on Real Life at Home. To make it easier to find them all, I put together this guide to all the free printable valentines I have available on the site.

Here are the themes of free printable valentine cards currently listed in this post:
- Space Valentine Cards
- Star Wars Valentine Cards (and Coloring Pages)
- Religious Valentine Cards
- Funny Teen and Tween Valentine Cards
- Color Your Own Valentine Cards
- Toppers for a Valentine Candy Treat
There are also ideas for some DIY Valentine Cards and Projects farther down.
How to Print Your Free Printable Valentine Cards for Kids
While you can print the valentines on regular printer paper, I would definitely recommend printing all of these on white cardstock to make them feel more like a standard valentine card.
These are best printed in color, of course. This is the newer version of the color laser printer that we love and use at home. Here is great option for a color inkjet printer as well.
Printable Space and Star Wars Valentine Cards for Kids
While these are really different sets, I’m putting these two free printable valentine card sets into the same category.
In these Star Wars Valentine Cards, there is a Death Star-inspired heart with eight different Star Wars-themed sentiments. My family and I had such a fun time coming up with the sayings for those cards! We went out to dinner one night and that was our main topic of conversation.
There are cards like “It is your destiny to be my valentine!” and (my personal favorite –>) “You (love) Han Solo. {He knows.}”
The Star Wars Valentine Cards post also includes coloring pages with some fun sentiments and the Death Star-inspired Heart.
If you’re just looking for some fun and cute Space Valentine Cards for Kids, you’ll love this set! There are six different space-themed valentines. Again, like all of the others on this list, they’re free!
Printable Religious Valentine Cards for Kids
I have several different sets of Religious Valentine Cards for kids and adults to use. All of them are free to download.
The first Christian valentine card set is all in shades of pink and has the same design on all six cards, but each card features a different Bible verse about love.
The next Scripture Valentine Card set has the same graphic with a cross and a heart, but the cards are in different colors and also have six different Scripture verses about love or hearts on them.
This next set of Religious Valentine Cards has a more elegant design-theme, with floral wreaths and some script writing. The cards in this set are slightly larger, as they are printed four to a page instead of six to a page.
This whimsical and cute set of Scripture Valentine Cards has sweet graphics and a lighter feel. They have messages on them like “I like you a latte!” but then below features a related Bible verse. (This post has a set with Scripture and without Scripture.)
This set of Valentine’s Day Bible Verse Cards has 12 different cards that each feature a different Scripture that is themed around love. These cards could be used as valentines to give to friends or lunchbox notes that you can tuck in for your kids.
Funny Valentine Cards for Teens and Tweens
This set of eight quirky valentine cards came out of a talk with our daughter when she was lamenting not having a special someone for Valentine’s Day. So, even though I figured she would roll her eyes at my Funny Valentine Cards for Teens and Tweens, she actually really liked them. Hopefully you do too!
Color Your Own Free Printable Valentine Cards
Post continues after this brief information about a monthly membership to help you live the liturgical year
Monthly Liturgical Membership
This Color Your Own Valentine Cards Set is one of my newer sets of free printable valentine cards and I really love them. Not only are they fun because your kids can color them (which also makes it easy, since they don’t need to be printed in color) but they are also really kind and positive cards. I love that!
Oh, and if your kids don’t want to color them, you can print out the valentines and hand them out uncolored and include something like one of these Crayola party favor packs of four crayons with each valentine.
Another option for a color your own valentine card is this free printable You Are My Sunshine Valentine Card. There are three different design options with these cards. Plus these You Are My Sunshine cards can actually be used any time of year, not just for Valentine’s Day.
Toppers for a Valentine Candy Treat
This “You Rock” Valentine Treat Bag Topper set is great if you want to skip out on traditional Valentine cards and print out a topper for some candy instead.
Since the title of the topper is “You Rock”, you have several options for what kind of treat you can use this with. Here are some ideas:
- Pop Rocks
- Ring Pops
- Rock Candy
- Chocolate Rocks
- Candy Crystals
- Rocky Road Candy Bars
- Any candy or treats you want, if you don’t want to worry about making a pun.
Options for DIY Valentine Cards
Still want to do something for Valentine’s Day, but looking for some a little different? Here are some ideas for some DIY Valentine Cards and Projects.
What if you made a valentine keepsake that would last far beyond February 14th? In this post, we have instructions for making all of these adorable Mixed Media Valentine Art Keepsakes. These are wonderful for both kids and adults to make. You can even work on these in a classroom setting.
While this “Days Since” Love Letter Project may seem more geared toward adults, this is something that kids can make too. Just pick out some of their major life milestones and have them work from there.
Mom might get a little teary-eyed to read “5591 days since you first held me in your arms and knew you’d love me forever” when their child is referring to the day of their birth.
Your number might be quite a bit smaller than that for a younger child. I used the “Days Since” calculator to figure out my youngest’s age in days and she’s 15 years old.
These homemade valentines using scrap paper are easy to do for all ages. This would be a great inexpensive project to do with a group of kids.
Cool Valentine Cards (if you don’t want to print your own)
After all of this, if you decide that you don’t really want to print out valentine cards for your kids, here are some valentine card sets that I thought were very cool:
Ninja Finger Puppet Valentine Cards:
Scratch Off Jokes Valentine Cards:
Cootie Catcher Valentine Cards:

Thank you for all of these fun kid things. I work at a church and are always looking for fun things for the children to do at their Faith Formation classes. This supplements very well what do and makes the children smile.
