Stick Puppets Goldilocks and the Three Bears Craft Post Preview – Here are directions and free printable patterns for Goldilocks and the Three Bears stick puppets. You and your kids can use these for storytelling, play, bookmarks, and more.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a classic fable to show the importance of self-control, respecting the property of others, and how actions can hurt other people (or bears, in this case). It’s also a great fable for kids to learn and then retell, so what I have today is perfect for helping with retelling. (Here are ideas for retelling through imaginative play.)
Today, I have this super cute Goldilocks and the Three Bears craft to make stick puppets of each character in the story. To make these stick puppets, I have step-by-step directions. Plus, I have a free downloadable template toward the end of this post that includes patterns for making each of the stick puppets.

Instructions for The Stick Puppets Goldilocks and the Three Bears Craft
Step One:
Print out the free printable Goldilocks and the Three Bears craft template for making the stick puppets, which is available toward the end of this post.
I recommend printing the page on white cardstock, if possible. That will make them easier to trace onto your colored cardstock.
Step Two:
Select appropriately colored pieces of cardstock for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Trace the shapes from the provided template on the correct papers. Carefully cut out the traced shapes.
Step Three:
Take the Goldilocks hair and body cutout. Cut a slit along with the pattern inside the hair pattern.
If you prefer, you can skip doing this part if you cut the hair out in two parts with a back of the head and front of the head portion.
Step Four:
Slide the top end of Goldilocks’ head through the slit of the hair from the bottom side. Apply glue to join the hair pattern with the head part of the body base.
Step Five:
Attach the dress patterns on the lower part of the Goldilocks body base. Use a black sharpie to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of the paper Goldilocks doll.
Step Six:
It’s time to make your three bears puppets! Carefully cut out your bear body shapes, if you haven’t already.
Stick the oval-shaped cutouts near the bottom portion of the paper bears’ heads in the area that their mouths will be.
Step Seven:
Attach blush patterns on the cheeks of the bears. Use a sharpie to draw the eyes, noses, and mouths of the paper bears.
Step Eight:
Attach Goldilocks and the Three Bears dolls to craft sticks (or popsicle sticks) to complete the puppet crafts.
