Free Winter Word Search Printable for Kids Post Preview: You’ll find a free download with a winter word search set with three different levels of difficulty. There is also an option of color graphics or blackline graphics.

While the cold of winter is not one of my favorite things, I do think that word searches are pretty fabulous.  If your kids love winter, word searches, or, even better yet – both, then they might love completing this Winter Word Search that you can download and print.

I first made the original winter word search almost five years ago. If that’s the version you want, you’ll still be able to grab it here.

However, I decided this year to add more levels of difficulty in order to have a version for a large variety of ages. In this new set, I have also included both versions with color graphics and blackline graphics that can be colored in too. So many options!

If you prefer, however, the blackline versions of the puzzle could also be printed on festive, cool winter colored papers instead of plain white paper.

As I already mentioned, there are three different versions of the word search. They can all be found in the same download. The older version of the printable is also still available, but it is in a separate download.

This version has large letters and only six winter words to search for. This version of the winter word find is perfect for kids who are just starting to be able to do word searches.

Words can be found up and down and left to right.

  • Snow
  • Hat
  • Coat
  • Mittens

Winter Word Find Printable (Difficult Version)

Winter Word Search Printable (Difficult Version)

The most difficult of the three versions has 24 winter-themed words. There is a version of the 24 term word search in the new packet with both color and blackline graphics choices.

There is also a separate download for the old version of the word search, which is also the 24-word version. It was originally made in January 2014 and published on The Homeschool Classroom back before I combined all four of my sites into Real Life at Home. So the older version still has The Homeschool Classroom copyright information on it. (The URL on it redirects to Real Life at Home.)

The older version looks like this:

    Hello,
My district is 100% virtual. Could I possibly import this into PearDeck allowing my students to be able to use it or will that violate your usage policy?
    Thanks,
    Michele Jones

      Hi Michele –
I’m not familiar with PearDeck. Is that like Canvas or Google Classroom? If it’s something where only your students and/or their parents have access to it, then during remote learning due to the pandemic, I have been allowing it in that type of set up. Normally it’s not allowed, but these are very weird, difficult times.

      Thanks for checking!
      Angie
