Free Tags for First Day of School Gifts for Teachers (for Sharpie Markers and Cookies) Post Preview: Use these free gift tags to make a back to school gift for your new teacher with Sharpie Markers or cookies.
I feel like summer just started and yet it’s back to school time already. How did that happen? Of course, it probably has something to do with the fact that all of my kids did classes over the summer to get a head start on the upcoming school year.
Our current college student and incoming college student both took three classes at the university over the summer. Our incoming high school student took two classes over the summer plus spent time reading To Kill a Mockingbird for her Honors English class. It was a very academic summer!
So, that’s probably why it’s so hard to believe that it’s back to school time. Other than the heat, it hasn’t felt a lot like summer around here.
Hopefully, your summer was more laid back than ours! And, hopefully, you’re ready for back to school time.
If you are gearing up for back to school and want to put together an inexpensive teacher gift, I have some free printable tags that are perfect for first day of school gifts for teachers!

Free Tags for First Day of School Gifts for Teachers (to use with Sharpie Markers or Cookies)
If you want to put together a quick, easy, and inexpensive teacher gift for back to school time, these printable tags may be the perfect solution! There are two different designs and they’re both free to download.
Back to School Teacher Gift Tags for Sharpie Markers or Scissors
The first free printable tag is perfect to package together with a package of Sharpie markers (or even just a few new Sharpies) or with some new scissors.
The colorful gift tag reads: “This year looks sharp with you as my teacher!”
If you don’t want to use Sharpie markers, you could also send in a new box of thumbtacks or push pins for a teacher to use with their bulletin boards. As mentioned above, you could also include scissors with this gift tag. That could either be a nice pair of scissors for the teacher or a few pairs of scissors for the classroom.
These tags are in color, but if you do not have a color printer, they will print black and white just fine. I would recommend printing on white cardstock.
Back to School Teacher Gift Tags for Cookies
The second gift tag is wonderfully paired with the cookies of your choice.
You could whip up some homemade cookies, get some at the store, or go with some fancy options from a local bakery. This tag is particularly versatile.
The cookie gift tag reads: “I’m going to be one smart cookie with you as my teacher!”
Just like the marker tag, the cookie tags are in color, but if you do not have a color printer, they can be printed in black and white. I would recommend printing on white cardstock.
