Saint Benedict and Saint Scholastica are not only well-known saints who both started religious orders, but they were also twins.  Saint Benedict’s feast day is July 11th and Saint Scholastica’s feast day is February 10th.  Because of the upcoming feast day, we’re sharing a free St. Benedict and St. Scholastica coloring page.

When I asked Eric to work on some coloring pages for the site, this is one he set out to drawing right away.  So, yes, I have been holding on to it for just a bit.  Eric said he was very touched by the story of the close siblings, and St. Benedict seeing St. Scholastica’s soul rising heavenward in the form of a dove after she passed away.

I used letters that could also be colored in for the saints’ names, as a fun addition to the regular coloring areas.

Note: This download is free for personal or classroom use. It can also be put into church bulletins or newsletters, but the copyright credit line must be included (which just means to make sure that you don’t accidentally crop off the line with the copyright/website information at the bottom of the printable when you are reproducing it to hand out). It cannot be sold, published, or hosted on other websites. If you want to pass along the printable though, please feel free to share a link to this post (not directly to the printable) with others. Thanks!
