President Facts for Kids: Free U.S. Presidents Crossword Puzzle Post Preview: In this post, you’ll be able to download a free presidents crossword puzzle, as well as find some resources for teaching about presidents and U.S. history and geography.
History and social studies have always been my jam. Except for a particularly brutal and legendary chapter on the Westward Expansion when I was in 5th grade (that all of the sixth graders warned us about ahead of time), social studies has held the top spot in my heart where school subjects are concerned. When I was in early elementary school, I even owned a book that was just presidents’ portraits and facts.
Yeah, I was that kid.
Since Presidents’ Day is fast approaching, I thought it would be a perfect time to work on some president facts for kids and make this free U.S. Presidents crossword puzzle. Of course, this isn’t only perfect for Presidents’ Day. This crossword puzzle would be good while studying U.S. History, a social studies unit on presidents, or just something to work on to talk about presidential facts.

President Facts for Kids: Free U.S. Presidents Crossword Puzzle
The facts included in this puzzle are not obscure, so don’t worry. They should be able to be found through online searches. Some of the facts are also easily found in most U.S. History books.
Some of the answers are ones they may know already from their history studies. Other facts that they’re not sure about can be found by using reference books or Google.
Sometimes they might be surprised by some of the answers, so it can be a nice learning experience as well. While they might assume the Abraham Lincoln was the first presidents born in a log cabin, they’d be wrong. Although, in a tricky coincidence, the correct answer also has seven letters.
Wait. Why did they name them Lincoln Logs then? (Just joking. Even if Abe wasn’t the first, he is certainly the most well known president to be born in a log cabin.)
