I love smoothies for their versatility. Have some produce that is past its peak? It’s smoothie time! Hot summer weather and you don’t want to cook? Awesome smoothie time! Feeling those after holidays bloat and nastiness? Perfect time for smoothies!

I have a confession to make about the Blueberry Peach Green Smoothie. The first time I made it, I just did it because of what I happened to have in the refrigerator and freezer. Blueberries are not my favorite fruit. I can eat a few, but that usually my limit. I was sure I was not going to enjoy it.

I was so surprised when I really liked it, and especially when I had to make it again! Not only was it delicious, but it was also a great way for me to consume more blueberries without needing to actually chew them. Yeah!

For real – all those specks of dark blue from the blueberries just pop against the green smoothie and make it extra lovely!

Blueberry Peach Green Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients for Blueberry Peach Green Smoothie

  • 1 cup of milk or milk alternative – I use coconut almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 2 large handfuls of spring greens
  • 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup of frozen sliced peaches
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed (optional)
  • protein powder (optional)

I like to use at least one frozen food item in my smoothies because I like them to be very cold, but I don’t want to add ice. If you don’t care about having them extra cold, you can opt for fresh peaches, but then you may want to add some ice.

Directions for Blueberry Peach Green Smoothie

1. Add all ingredients into your blender in the order shown above, unless your blender recommends a different loading order.

2. Blend to your desired consistency and enjoy.

This recipe makes one very large serving, like to replace a meal, or several smaller servings, such as to give a small glass to each of my kids and myself.
