Winter Nature Study Observations Printable for Kids Post Preview: Nature studies are great to do all year long and wintertime is no exception. Even though it’s cold, it’s still a wonderful idea to get outside and observe nature. Kids can use this winter nature observation page to record the things they see.

I don’t know how the winter weather is around your house, but I’m in the Midwest and it can get really cold outside. We have often made it a habit to spend a lot of time in the house throughout winter then. Winter isn’t the time to be cooped up though. It’s a perfect time to get outside and observe nature!

To help you out with your winter nature study, I have a brand new free Winter Nature Study Observation Sheet! You and the kids can grab a clipboard, some markers and pens, and hats and scarves, and head outside to see plants and animals during the winter.

You can get this printable in the section of this post toward the end with the heading “DOWNLOAD THE WINTER NATURE STUDY PRINTABLE.”

Winter Nature Study Observations Printable for Kids

This winter nature study observation page is good for a variety of ages. Younger children, like preschool and kindergarten, might need some help with reading or writing. Other elementary-aged students can likely do the page on their own. Although, of course, it’s a lot of fun to work together!

What’s on the Winter Nature Study Observation Printable?

The free printable is broken up into sections. It includes the following sections:

  • What are your favorite things about winter?
  • Draw an animal that you see
  • Draw a tree branch with an interesting shape
  • What colors do you see?
  • How many of these can you find? (with a checklist of items)
  • Things to Do
