I can’t remember a time when mermaids were more “in” than they are right now – there are mermaid pillows, mermaid fabric, mermaid crafts, mermaid shirts – everything mermaid. Even after The Little Mermaid came out, it seemed that there wasn’t as much mermaid hype as there is right now. And who can blame people? The friendly versions that we celebrate seem to be fun, empowered, and have a fabulous color scheme and lots of sparkles. What’s not to love?
The whole underside of my hair is currently blue. Because of the fading here and there, people occasionally tell me that they love the “mermaid effect” in my hair. It makes me smile every time. Even big kids can like mermaids.
I have a set of 20 awesome mermaid crafts and activities that your kids (and you!) will love. I took the time to write a little bit about each craft on the list, that way you can see if it might be a good fit for you and your little mermaid.
