Fall. Autumn. Whatever you call it, it’s the season for all things apple. Each October, vasts amounts of local folks hop in the car and visit one of the apple barns in north Georgia, and buy bags of apples, cider, fried pies… YUM!

There are countless apple recipes to be found all over the interweb, but there are also a whole lot of fun apple crafts children will enjoy, too.

Apple Crafts for Kids:

1- cardboard apple trees
This is a frame-worthy art project but still simple enough for young kids with some help. Don’t miss her list of a zillion other projects in this post, too.

2- apple cloud dough
Am I the only one who has never made any sort of homemade play-dough? I’m remedying that soon, and this one looks delightful. She warns that it is messy but it’s also safe if you have little ones who might be tempted to taste it.
Another version: apple pie dough.

3- apple placemats
Such a lovely project. I love how it looks on the burlap. And I just realized I have that exact fabric she uses for the apple leaf. Easy enough for littles; fun enough for big kids. (Or mom?)

4- torn paper apple trees
Oh my. Encouraging kids to tear paper? They’ll love it. A good way to talk about the life cycle of an apple tree, too.

5- felt apple coasters
Age range for this project would depend upon your child and whether or not they have any sewing experience. But it’s still very simple, and would be a great way to learn or practice sewing skills. My favorite is the one with the bite out of it.

6- apple scented rice
If your kids enjoy sensory bins, this one looks wonderful — and I’m sure it smells even better than it looks!

7- apple print wreath
You can use apple prints to decorate wrapping paper, lunch or gift bags, and all sorts of things. I really like this wreath, and it’s easy enough for young children.

8- dried apple bird feeder
I love my birdie friends. Even though they ate most of the apples off my apple trees this year. Despite that, I’d love to make this feeder to put out in the fall. This would be better for Mom or big kids, but younger kids could certainly help.

9- apple tree craft
This one, using a toilet paper roll, is easy enough even for preschoolers.

10- apple mason jars
Apples made from mason jars. Totally do-able and totally adorable. I want one! How cute would this be sitting on a desk? Great gift idea for any time of year, and not just for teachers.

What’s your favorite apple something? (I think mine is a good fried pie!)

Thank you for sharing these ideas! I think we’ll be doing the torn paper apple tree tomorrow!
