I have always loved children’s books. I continued to love them even after I took a children’s literature course during my undergraduate work and had to buy $350 worth of children’s books for the course. Ouch! One beloved children’s series is Clifford the Big Red Dog. Inspired by those books, we have a red dog printables packet.

This worksheets and activities packet is perfect for a variety of preschool and very early elementary ages.

Contents of the Clifford the Big Red Dog: Printables Inspired by the Books Packet
This packet is nine pages. This includes a short terms of use page (you can read more terms of use here). The remaining eight pages of the packet are all printables for your children or students to use.
Two Object Counting Pages (with different formats)
There are a number of graphics on these pages, such as red puppies, bones, and paw prints. Children will count up the total number of each of these items and make the correct choice about how many of each they found.
Recognizing Lower and Upper Case Letter C
Children can trace a lower and upper case letter C in the top portion of the page. Then, they can use a do-a-dot marker (or just circle or X on letters) to find all of the lower case and upper case letter C’s on the page.
Letter Tracing and Drawing Bones for the Dog
On one page, children will feed the red dog five bones by drawing them in the box near the dog.
At the bottom of the page, they will trace and write lower and upper case letter C.

“I Spy” Activity (two pages)
On the first page, there are lots of different Clifford-inspired objects. How many of each object can you spy? Children will record that number on the second page of the activity.
Fine Motor Practice with Pencil Control
Trace the lines through these series of tight mazes to help the red dog make it to the end.
Visual Discrimination with Clifford-inspired Graphics
In a series of rows, children will try to recognize which item in that row is slightly different from the others in the row.
