I am a gift giver – it’s one of my languages.   I don’t fill like filling an Easter basket full of candy and junk though.   I’m also a fan of making fancy gifts and presentation of stuff I’d buy them anyway.   That being said, here are ten candy-free Easter basket ideas.

Easter accessories (girly)

  • hat
  • purse
  • shoes
  • gloves
  • hair accessories
  • jewelry

Church busy bag

  • personalized bag
  • stuffed lamb (easy to find at Easter!)
  • holy card ring
  • age-appropriate bible
  • notebook or coloring book
  •  pencil or crayons
  • church books
  • church lacing toys

  • Bible
  • bible cover
  • bible tabs
  •  devotional
  • bible highlighters
  •  journal
  • prayer book
  • nice pen

Games

  • card games
  •  board games
  • travel games
  •  puzzles
  • video games

Girly gear

  •  nail polish
  • chap stick
  • headbands, barrette, etc
  • brushes/combs
  • mirror
  • blow dryer
  •  jewelry

Brain basket

  • sudoku
  •  word search
  • cross word puzzle
  •  activity books

Bath Gear

  • new towel set – personalized!
  • fun soap, salts, etc.
  • bath toy (for littles)
  • squirt guns (for older)
  • bath crayons or markers
  • bathrobe

Movies & More

  • new movie or movie tickets
  • movie related item (poster, stuffed toy, book, etc.)
  • popcorn
  • theatre sized candy
  • pop
  • popcorn bowl
  • popcorn flavorings

Cooking

  • apron
  • spatula
  • lettuce knife
  • wooden spoon
  • small wisk
  • kids cookbook
  • fun timer

and last, but certainly not least (at least in our house),

Books

In my house, books are a part of all seasons & all gifts.  You can either find holiday-related books for little ones or if you have a voracious reader, you could include some new books, a book light, and a few bookmarks.

Do you do big Easter baskets in your house?

Jen can be found writing at Happy Little Homemaker.

On snap! I was just thinking up items to thin out the candy part of the Easter baskets when WHAM! I see your post. Fantastic. I’ve been trying to incorporate one meaningful (ie. religious) gift for the big holidays. Since our girls are still tiny, I decided on their saint’s name cards. A stuffed lamb? Duh. Why didn’t I think of that!
