I should probably be working on my taxes that still are not done (or started). However, instead, I worked on a new Catholic Printables Packet! For this latest Catholic Printables Packet, with Eric’s drawing help, I made a 19-page Saint George printables and worksheet packet. Saint George’s feast day is April 23rd.

This packet is age-appropriate for elementary-aged children. Since the packet is a free download (for subscribers or very inexpensive if you prefer not to subscribe), you can pick the pages that are most age and ability appropriate for the child or children that you’re using it with.
Now, as I always do before I give the run down of the packet’s contents, I have to send out a thank you to my husband, Eric. He drew both the Saint George graphic and the dragon graphic for this packet. Because of these graphics were made exclusively for my use, neither of these graphics (colored in or black and white) should be taken and used in any other projects or for any other use. Thanks for taking care of this part of packet-making for me, Eric!
The Saint George Printables and Worksheet Packet Includes
- A Terms of Use and Directions Page
- Saint George Word Search (and Solution Page)
- Saint George Coloring Page
- Dragon Coloring Page
- Saint George and the Dragon Maze (and Solution Page)
- All About Saint George Fact Sheet to Fill Out
- Two Handwriting Pages (one printing, one cursive) that also feature a coloring area of Saint George
- A Cut Apart Page Where Children Put Words about Saint George in Alphabetical Order (There is also a second version for younger children with the first letter of the word to help them put it in alphabetical order.)
- Two pages of handwriting pages with a quote about Saint George on them (There is one quote total, with two versions of writing lines for each quote, plus an extra page with handwriting lines.)
- Three pages that are cut into six half pages to make a Saint George Mini Book
- A comprehension page about things learned about Saint George throughout the packet (includes a word bank)
A great way to extend this packet might be to use it along with reading the book Saint George & the Dragon by Jim Forest. This book focuses more on Christianity than the mythical Saint George and the Dragon story.

I just ordered the picture book you recommended from Amazon to use with my CCD class next week. I read the Amazon customer reviews, and it looks like the one reason it only got an average 4 stars instead of 5 stars in the reviews was because one “cultural Episcopalian” dinged it for having too much Christian content and not enough fairytale elements, as opposed to the Margaret Hodges/Trina Schart Hyman version (which I had read many years ago myself to my own kids) based upon Spenser’s “The Faerie Queene”. For CCD, however, I want to pack in all the Christian content I can, even into fun activities like a read-aloud, so this book sounds perfect. Off to download the printables packet now!

Thank you! I’m excited to pair this with the study of the armor of God. We have a colorful storybook about St. George and a blowup bright orange looking dragon.
I think it’s going to be a very good lean into praying for missionaries and soldiers who face fierce enemies every day.
Respectfully, grandma Patti
