Post Preview: O Antiphons are a sacred yet simple reflection as we journey through Advent and wait for Christmas Day and the birth of Jesus. You can do this meaningful reflection at home, school, or religious education, and you can make it even easier with this low to no-prep printable O Antiphons Advent Display Cards and Ornaments Packet for Kids and Families.

Unfortunately, December can be a busy time of year. As a simple but meaningful way to put the emphasis back on Advent, you can easily add the O Antiphons to your family’s routine from December 17 – 23. This is such an easy way to put the focus back on waiting for the birth of Jesus!

O Antiphons Advent Display Cards and Ornaments Packet for Kids and Families

O Antiphons are a sacred, yet simple, reflection as we wait for the Nativity of Our Lord. They run from December 17 – 23. This printable packet for kids and families includes directions, prayers, display cards, and ornaments.

How to Use the O Antiphons / Contents of the O Antiphons Advent Display Cards and Ornaments Packet

The O Antiphons are centuries old and based on Isaiah’s Old Testament prophesies about the coming Messiah.

They are also an easy yet meaningful way to reflect on and focus on our longing for Jesus as we wait for the Nativity of Our Lord (Christmas).

O Antiphons Display Cards for Kids and Families

On each day/night from December 17 – 23, you can:

1. If desired, begin by praying one Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

2. Sing that day’s verse and the refrain from “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” (included in this packet). This is a wonderful time to light your Advent candle as well. If you are uncomfortable singing, you can read the verse and refrain from “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”

3. Read the card for the day, including the verse from Isaiah (included in this packet). You can also use these cards to decorate your home or classroom.

Note: This printable set includes each card in black and white for children or adults to color and a color version. Each set also includes versions with the symbols in English and Latin.

4. Pray the Magnificat as a family or class. (Not familiar with the Magnificat? Don’t worry – it’s included in the printable packet.)

The graphics from the cards are also formatted as ornaments that you can cut out and add to your tree. If you use the ornaments pages and want the ornaments to be smaller, you can print those pages at a smaller percentage to get smaller ornaments.

There are options for ornaments in color and black and white. The symbols are also written in your choice of English and Latin.

Unlike most of the printables on Real Life at Home, this is a paid set. However, just like with other paid sets, I have it at a very low price. I would always rather more people have access, and I make a little less money than to make it too difficult for people to afford my products.

Do you prefer to purchase through a different site? You can also purchase the O Antiphons Packet on Teachers Pay Teachers or you can purchase the O Antiphons Packet on Etsy.

If you happen to have any printing issues (which I wouldn’t expect), I have some tips here that can help with a variety of issues that sometimes pop up because of different web browsers or updates.

I recommend printing this packet on either regular white printer paper or on white cardstock (this is the preferred option) as there are several pages where kids can color some of the pictures.
