Whether you’re gearing up for New Year’s Eve, planning a bridal shower, or celebrating another milestone, these easy Champagne Cupcakes could be the perfect addition to your celebration.

While they include a vanilla buttercream frosting, I have suggestions for how to tweak it for champagne frosting. That’s a great way to kick it up another notch and add more champagne flavor.

Fun and Festive Champagne Cupcakes Recipe

Champagne Cupcake Ingredients

  • 1 box of White Cake Mix
  • 1 cup of Pink Champagne
  • 1/3 cup of butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • White Frosting of Your Choice (I’d recommend this light and airy vanilla frosting recipe, but I’ll give you a tip later for making it a champagne buttercream frosting)
  • Gold and Silver Sprinkles

Supplies Needed:

  • Cupcake Liners (here are gold cupcake liners, which are super cute with the gold and silver sprinkles)
  • Piping Bag and Icing Tip

Champagne Cupcake Directions

1. Add your cake mix, softened butter, eggs, and champagne into a large mixing bowl.

2. Mix the ingredients with a hand or stand mixer on high until well blended.

3. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 and bake according to the temperature and timing on your cake mix’s box instructions.

4. All your cupcakes to cool completely.

5. Make your favorite white frosting recipe. As I said earlier, I love this light and airy homemade vanilla buttercream frosting.

Want to make champagne buttercream frosting? If you want to tweak that recipe to make a champagne buttercream frosting, you could try substituting the milk (or most of the milk) in the light and airy vanilla buttercream frosting recipe for champagne (or pink champagne). While I haven’t tried it, that seems pretty in line with what I have seen from champagne buttercream frosting recipes online.

6. Frost your cooled cupcakes and top with gold and/or silver sprinkles. For a lovely look, you could add gold sprinkles to half and silver sprinkles to the other half.
