Catholic Letter of the Week Worksheets and Coloring Pages for Letters F, G, H, I, and J for Preschool – 1st Grade Post Preview: Encourage learning about letters and letter sounds for F, G, H, I, and J as well as our shared faith with these printable packets.
I initially hoped that I might be able to finish all 26 packets in this set by the end of August. I now know that this may have been a little overly ambitious. While I could have probably finished that quickly if that was all I worked on, I have also spent time workign on things like:
- A weekly checklist assignment planner page that comes in color and black and white
- Five summer-themed easy word search printables for kids
- An Immaculate Heart of Mary coloring page
So, maybe the whole set won’t be done until the very beginning of October. But, on the upside, after this release, you’ll have 10 different packets to start working with.
That’s right – it’s time for the next installment of five packets for my Catholic Letter of the Week Worksheet and Coloring Page set for preschool and kindergarten (and some first graders)!
Plus, I now have an option to buy the entire set – an A – Z Catholic Letter of the Week Bundle. This is the best time to get it as the price will be going up as more packets go live.
A – E Bundle (175 pages of worksheets, coloring pages, and activities)
F – J Bundle (175 pages of coloring pages, worksheets, and activities)
K – O Bundle – (175 pages of coloring pages, worksheets, and activities)
P – T – (175 pages of coloring pages, worksheets, and activities)
U – Z Bundle – (210 pages of coloring pages, worksheets, and activities)
A – Z Bundle – (910 pages of worksheets, coloring pages, and activities) – The bundle is 50% off the price of buying them each individually. It’s also a 30% savings off the price of buying all five of the specially-priced smaller bundles.

As I mentioned last time, although these packets were designed for Catholic kids, there are actually many other Christian denominations that they may be wonderful for. I spent most of my life in the Episcopal Church and this is pretty close to a perfect fit there too. There may be some pages that don’t work as well, but mostly yes.
This is great for most denominations that recognize saints and have similar services/parts of the church as Catholics. Plus, I have included many pages that are Christian without specifically being Catholic, as well as secular pages.

Catholic Letter of the Week Worksheets and Coloring Pages for PreK – 1st Grade
Since the packet for each letter in this set is 35 pages long, I have them broken up into individual packets as well as bundled into five letters per bundle. This way, you can grab just the individual letters you want or you can grab a bundle.
I already had A, B, C, D, and E packets available individually, as well as in one bundle together and now with this post, I am adding packets for F, G, H, I, and J. By the end of September, I will have all of the packets available individually and in bundles.
Plus, I now have an option to buy the entire set – an A – Z Catholic Letter of the Week Bundle.
Each packet provides parents and teachers with a variety of coloring pages, worksheets, and activities to work on:
★ Correct letter formation
★ Identifying letters
★ Understanding and recognizing initial letter sounds, including when letters make more than one beginning sound (such as both the hard and soft C sounds or hard and soft J sounds, for example)
★ Learning more about our shared faith
Note: If it is important to you that the items included for a letter only make one particular sound, then you may find that there are some pages in some of the packets that you won’t want to use. For example, in the C packet, Saint Cecilia is included even though her name begins with a soft C sound.
I wanted to put an emphasis on the faith aspect, so I didn’t want to be tied to just one letter sound. Also, I always introduced multiple sounds that a letter could make early on with readers (both at home and when I taught in the classroom), using a mix of phonics and whole language, so it felt more natural to me to set it up like that. But, I wanted to be sure to mention it.
Grade Levels for the Catholic Letter of the Week Packets
These Catholic Letter of the Week packets are perfect for preschool and kindergarten students. These would also work well for many first grade students. Some of the pages will also work well for second grade students, though some pages in the packet will likely be far too easy for them.
Do I Really Have to Finish One Packet Every Week?
Since each packet has 35 pages of worksheets, coloring pages, and activities, you can opt to spend longer than a week on each of the Catholic Letter of the Week Packets. However, you might be able to get through it all in one week.
If you complete one packet every week and a half, you should be able to make the 26 packets last for a whole 36 week school year. (That’s a 180 school year.)
Conversely, you can just pick and choose what to do in each packet and make sure you get done in one week.

Contents of Catholic Letter of the Week Packets
While each packet has some variation, the packets pretty much have the same style of content in each packet, but it just changes up for each letter. I found that while I was teaching in the classroom (and later at home with my own children), my students were most comfortable when they knew what to expect in an activity. This will give your children or students a greater comfort level while working through all of the packets.
Each packet in this bundle includes The following pages
I will give more details about each page in the individual letters sections.
★ A Terms of Use Page
★ Five Handwriting Practice Pages

All are religious in nature and include saints, objects found in a church, people or items from Bible stories, etc.
