Items Needed:
- ornament- make sure it is a shatterproof one!
- white paint
- glitter paint, optional
- paint pens, Sharpies or other paints for decorations
- paper plate
- foam brush
Steps:
1. Pour white paint onto paper plate
2. Paint your child’s hand white with a foam brush
3. Have your child hold the ornament, being careful not to move fingers
4. After the paint has dried, decorate your snowmen
As you can see in the first picture, I added some snow to the bottom so it looked like they were in the snow and not just a big white hand print. I put a bit of glitter in the “snow” as well.
Don’t forget to put the year on the ornament too!

So cute! I try to make at least one new ornament with the kids every year. This one’s going on my list!
That is so cute. It looks really easy to make too. Thanks for sharing.
here’s a poem to go with this craft:
These aren’t just five snowmen
As anyone can see.
I made them with my hand
Which is a part of me.
Now each year when you trim the tree
You’ll look back and recall
Christmas of 2011
When my hand was just this small!
Hi! I love this activity and do it every year with my students. However, the past couple of years the ornament paint has bled through the handprint paint. Do you have this problem?
