10 Fun & Free Spring Craft Ideas

The following is a post from contributing writer Carlie from So You Call Yourself a Homeschooler?

Spring is an exciting time for most everyone I know. The stillness of winter fades and the moving of new life begins to rustle just about everywhere you go. During these times, it gives our family a nudge and the inspiration to switch gears with our crafting and move into spring!

I have compiled a list of wonderful free craft ideas that I have found on the web. I hope that this list will inspire you to do some fun spring crafting of your own!

  1. Over at Spoonful we found an amazing 3-D Rainbow Wreath that we plan to make this week.
  2. Activity Village has an adorable Birds Nest Collage that we are planning to put together as soon as all the snow melts here in Germany!
  3. Do your children like butterflies? Maybe the Chenille Stem Butterflies over at Kaboose will be a great choice.
  4. Who doesn’t like fuzzy cute bunnies? I know I do. How about this Chenille Easter Bunny on a Stick from Craft Ideas as an adorable craft for spring? I know my littles are looking forward to it.
  5. Check out this adorable Lily Flower Craft over at Sidetracked Sarah. If this doesn’t scream “SPRING!” I don’t know what does.
  6. Caterpillars anyone? I know my crew is excited to create this Cardboard Tube Caterpillar Craft by Free Kids Crafts.
  7. Looking for a really fun craft that will make your children smile and laugh? Check out this Funny Bunny Hat over at Busy Bee Kids Crafts.
  8. Here is a great craft to use with old birdseed from last year – a Birdseed Wreath. Thanks to Craft For All Seasons for this great idea.
  9. Look at these beautiful Marbleized Easter Eggs that the talented Martha Stewart shared on her website. I am all over these! I showed them to my 7th grade daughter and she is super excited to make these in the very near future.
  10. And now an awesome craft for all the reading lovers out there, a Bumblebee Bookmark Craft from DLTK’s Crafts For Kids.

Do you have any favorite spring crafts? If so, I’d love to know what they are. Please share them in the comments below. Happy Spring!
