Cleaning the house can be such a chore! In an effort to make it more manageable, we have been making it a regularly occurring, full family event. While it used to be more chaotic because the kids would do a task, and then ask one of us what should be done next, I eventually got smart about it and saved a checklist that we could use over and over.
Even though our ready-to-print list has made the house cleaning much easier, I still realized that the kitchen cleaning was taking forever. As a matter of fact, the other four people in my family can pretty much finish all of the cleaning of the house (other than vacuuming) in the time that it takes me to clean the whole kitchen.
Wait – before I keep telling you about changes I made to speed up my kitchen cleaning because of a great new product, I wanted to tell you that at the end of this post, you’ll have the chance to share some of your cleaning challenges and get a chance at a $100 gift card, so keep reading!
One of the best things about my kitchen is also my biggest cleaning nemesis: the off-white counter. The counter in my kitchen is great because there is a lot of it. Sure, that means more to clean, but rarely do I run out of counter space.
It’s my nemesis, however, because not only does that mean it’s easy to fill with clutter, but that off-white gets marked up very easily. Whether the marks are from moving an aluminum pan across it, or doing something like allowing cut fruit to sit on its surface, I will have to battle those spots later. Normally, this means that while I’m cleaning, I’ll have to take the time to spray cleaner on those spots, let them soak, and then go back to scrub at them. What a pain!
So, I’ll admit that I was skeptical that the new Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers would actually make much of a difference in my cleanup process. I figured that I would need multiple wipes and a lot of elbow grease.
To really test out the Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers, I decided to not go easy on them. I had made a mess working on a recipe for a post, which included marks left on the counter from a green smoothie, from a cut strawberry, and a large black streak made when I tried to grab some chia seeds that had tried to roll away.
Maybe you have nicer counters than me, so you won’t truly appreciate the timesavings here, but I was shocked when I didn’t have to scrub or soak. Both the strawberry mark and the black streak would have normally been items that I would have had to both soak with cleaner and then scrub to clean. I used a single Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers and cleaned up the whole area in one quick wiping.
This will change the way I clean my kitchen! I can’t even imagine not needing to leave a bunch of little puddles of cleaner around in various spots to soak areas that won’t wipe up. Maybe I’ll actually be able to help my family clean the rest of the house, since my kitchen cleaning will go much more quickly.
These wipes are double-sided for multipurpose use. The textured side is perfect for scouring tough messes like baked on grime and soap scum, while the smooth side is useful for simply wiping away dirt. As a bonus, the wipes kill 99.9% of common germs, including those that can cause cold and flu, Staphylococcus aureus, and Salmonella enterica.
Now, even though I have been talking about the kitchen, this isn’t the only place that I tried out the Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers, since the wipes can be throughout your house. Recently, unbeknownst to me, Eric told Molly that she and a friend could paint their nails using some technique they saw on Pinterest. When I happened upon the activity, I became convinced that the technique must have been “get nail polish all over your hands and on surfaces, if possible.” For real. I was shocked.
There were napkins and bits of tape with nail polish on them sitting all over the textured plastic folding table, in addition to the nail polish on Molly’s hands and arms! Then, I saw the large area of red on the table. It turns out that some got on the table, and Molly tried to clean it up quickly, but instead made an even bigger mess. I was so upset!
I decided to take a picture of the red area before I tried to clean it up, even though I was sure that the Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers wouldn’t even make a dent in it. While I will admit that it wasn’t a one wipe job like the counter had been (it was more like three wipes), and it definitely involved elbow grease to make sure to get into the textured areas of the table top, it got it clean! Score!
As an added bonus, I then cleaned the rest of the table. I don’t think it’s been that clean since we bought it, especially since the textured top gets dirty easily. I’m so psyched to have added Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes with Micro-Scrubbers to my cleaning routine. I love the tough cleaning that is also wiping away every day dirt and germs all around the house.
