Since I’ve been busy working toward a little bit better eating lately, I decided to try egg whites, since my Mom keeps telling me how much she loves them. So, I finally made some scrambled egg whites and decided to make a sandwich with them.
I did this less than a week ago, and I have probably had about five of these for various meals. The fun thing is that you can customize it in so many ways depending what you have around the house and what your unique tastes are.
Egg White Sandwich
Ingredients
- Arnold's 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Thin
- 1/4 - 1/3 cup Egg Whites I'm using the liquid in a carton, although you could separate eggs yourself if you have something to do with the yolks.
- One slice of cheese your choice of cheese - I just put on a slice of American because it's what I happened to put my hand on first and didn't involve me having to get out the cheese slicer or a Lowfat wedge of Laughing Cow Cheese
- 1 1/2 - 2 slices of precooked bacon
Instructions
- Obviously, this one is pretty self-explanatory. Just scramble the eggs, heat the bacon, and then assemble the sandwhich
After you’ve tried it, maybe the next time, you can try a new ingredient on it!
Breakfasts can be a challenge for me. What are some of your favorite things to make for breakfast?

I LOVE egg sandwiches! Mmm . . .
I’m obsessed with those thin sandwich rounds lately, and I’m trying to make a gluten-free version. It’s not going well so far.
Its kind of funny to me that you used egg whites and then used bacon (because bacon is high fat). I make these a lot and love them! I add lots of vegies to the scramble as well.
@Brenda,
Yeah, bacon is high in fat, and it is certainly something that can be skipped on the sandwich. It’s just something that I wanted to throw on, especially since I had skipped out on some other fat. Calorie wise, the bacon I was using added less than 40 calories (and even less when I just used 1 1/2 pieces), so I’m cool with that. 😉
I love egg sandwiches – but I always use the whole egg, I love the nutrition and taste packed in the yolks! The sandwiches are a great quick meal!
Can I suggest using a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese…spread on the bread…YUMMMMMYYY!!!
@Melissa B.,
Sounds yummy!
@Melissa B., Yummy AND only 35-55 calories!!
Sandwhich Thins = yummy!!
I joined a weight-loss group last month (and it’s working, yes, the accountability!) and one of the new things that I am trying is egg beaters….I HATE spending “extra” money on “special” things – but the low calorie/high protein count is pretty amazing!
YUM! I love a breakfast sandwich and it looks great with just egg whites. I really like those Sandwich Thins. I have been buying them, as well. Thanks for the recipe and linking up to TMTT at the Well. 🙂
