I must admit right now, that I never thought of humor as a surprise talent of mine. With years of making people laugh and having friends say things like, “You have to get Angie to tell you that story” or the like, I just thought that it was general knowledge that one of my favorite things is to be able to make people laugh.
Something has become painfully obvious for me, however. It doesn’t come across quite the same way online as it does in person. Go figure.
Do you know how I found this out? It’s because time after time, I have met people in person that I know from online, and it’s not unusual for them to say, “I didn’t realize you were so funny.” In fact, my new favorite was meeting like this was with Cindy from Our Journey Westward. While spending the weekend with her as part of a blogging retreat, she declared, “You’re nothing like I thought you would be. I really like you!”
Of course, we all burst out laughing and I had to ask, “Ummm…did that mean you didn’t like me before?”
She said, “No, I just didn’t realize you were so funny.”
Who knew that humor was my surprising talent?
Speaking of special surprises, do you know what company has a new surprising talent to share? It’s Green Giant and the surprise is some delicious new chips made with real vegetables.
Now, I know what you’re thinking and it’s probably either, “That doesn’t sound good” or “Angie’s just saying that because she got them for free.” And, I’ll be honest, when I first got them, I kind of thought, “Hmm…” But, then I ate them and was shocked. They were so good! In fact, I brought them to my blogging retreat, and several people had to comment about how tasty they are. I’m planning to buy more when I get home.
Who knew that the company that I most often associate with canned and frozen veggies would have a product that I’m sure my kids might possibly try to fight each other for. Score! With chips made with things like sweet potatoes and other real vegetables, as well as some of the varieties have 40% less fat than regular chips, this is a snack to feel comfortable giving to my kids.
