Helping Families with a New Baby

When friends or family have a new baby enter their lives, it can be a great gift to offer help to them.  In my experience, however, it’s not just enough to say, “Let me know if you need anything.”  Most families won’t take you up on such a vague offer.  Instead, pick something that you feel comfortable doing, and suggest something specific when you offer to help.

Even if you’re not a great cook, there are lots of things you can do to help a family with a new baby.  Check out my post at The Happy Housewife titled How to Help Families with a New Baby for some more ideas.

I wasn’t able to read the entire post because the website was going a bit bonkers, but I’d like to say please, please do help families with newborns. I have eleven children and only had a few meals delivered with the last few. It was very hard with my tenth because I was also dealing with a painful DVT, and I had to do everything on my own. New moms often don’t want to be an imposition on others and won’t ask for help, but please offer it! Sometimes they need it more than you think!
